Stained Glass

I find it fun to look at a sheet of glass from the early to mid 1900s and imagine the creative possibilities that the sheet holds. Called Catspaw, each sheet is a work of art in itself, and the color varies throughout the sheet. The organically flowing colors of this glass made it my favorite for landscape and floral projects — like painting with glass.

Only a few manufacturers continue to make this glass. Color is mixed into hot molten glass and hand-poured onto a table with a ladle. A roller is then used to roll it into a sheet that is completely unique.

Nowadays, my stained glass work is focused in my Brazilian Agate lampshades and in stained glass restoration projects. After a bout with lead poisoning and three years of chelation therapy, I try to limit my exposure to lead.
